Los Angeles, CA – August 20, 2025 – Master Licensing is proud to announce that its highly anticipated film Sugar Baby will premiere on Starz in September 2025. A joint venture between Master Licensing, Brook Productions, and Mary Ellen Moffat, Sugar Baby brings the steamy thriller genre into the streaming age.

The film, which will launch on September 1st, stars Mary Beth Barone (Overcompensating), James Tupper (Big Little Lies), Nina Bloomgarden (It’s What’s Inside), Theo Germaine (The Politician), and Carmen Christopher (The Bear).

The movie follows Marie, an enterprising Sugar Baby, who spends her days in search of her “whale.” When her latest Sugar Daddy offers her $30,000 to spend the week with him, Marie discovers a dark secret hidden within his home. In order to survive she must play into his perverse games. Sugar Baby marks the directorial debut of Lauren Garroni, who also co-wrote the film with Bree Essrig.

Master Licensing is a leading genre production and financing company founded by Andrew Garroni. Garroni was a pioneer in the direct-to-video erotic thriller genre that dominated video stores and late-night cable in the early to mid-90’s. Sugar Baby marks his return to the genre.
